Festival of Freedom at the Forks

If you plan to visit the Boundary region this summer, time your trip for the fourth weekend in July when Grand Forks hosts the Festival of Freedom at the Forks. This annual three day, community sponsored, family oriented event in this sunny valley is the least expensive and most rewarding festival of its kind that you will find in B.C.

Enjoy concert quality music ranging in style from country, folk, pop and rock, to blues, jazz and bluegrass by well-known recording artists and aspiring local talent. Take in world class multi-cultural performances, displays of aboriginal heritage, and unique art works and handcrafts created by local and regional artisans. Check out a cornucopia of vendors’ wares, and sample ethnic and vegetarian culinary delights. While your kids have fun in a supervised play area, you can expand your horizons at informative and empowering workshops related to the Festival’s mission, “building cultures of peace and respect for human dignity and ecological integrity.” Last, but not least, take satisfaction in the knowledge that Festival proceeds, after expenses, fund programs and organizations that advance the Festival’s mission locally, nationally and globally.

If you want to have a great time for all the right reasons, the third annual Festival of Freedom at the Forks, in beautiful Boundary Country is the place to be this summer. Reserved camping, without hookup, is available at the Festival site.
